Why Erin?
A keynote experience with Erin O’Malley is…
INTERACTIVE
There’s no way I can talk about the power of human connection and not let the humans in the room connect. The best way to get your team talking…is to get your team talking…to each other! I encourage intentional participation and create opportunities for conversation in all of my keynotes, tapping into the collective wisdom in the room. As a result, there’s energy, engagement, and real-time application of the concepts I share.
INFORMATIVE
I make complex concepts simple, palatable, and actionable. From emerging leaders to the C-Suite, front-line teams to their managers, I design my presentations to be accessible, actionable, and impactful for all levels. We talk Connection Crashers–words you say, habits you do, actions you take that slowly go and crack connection. When confronted with a Crasher, it’s hard not to come away with an action you’ll take to connect and communicate better.
REAL
My intention and motivation are to connect with fellow humans and share lessons learned from my experience…not to be all keynote-speaker-y. My teachings come from my experience in life and work…relatable experiences (no climbing mountains or death-defying experiences here¹) like working in restaurants, surviving island living in the Peace Corps, and working with teams in industries ranging from automotive, biotech, rental car, distribution centers, finance, and then some. (¹Note: One could argue that working in restaurants IS a death-defying experience.)
INFUSED WITH FUN
Do business and leadership need to be so serious? Not by my book. I’m a firm believer that humor gets us through the hard parts of life and the ability to laugh at ourselves is key. Lucky for all involved, I’ve been known to do multiple laughable things at myself daily, so there’s plenty of fodder to share and get the laughs rolling.

THE POWER OF HUMAN CONNECTION
Tapping into Curiosity, Care, and Courage to create cultures of connection
Imagine a culture of collaboration, innovation, loyalty, effective communication, trusted relationships, and enjoyment at work. Sound like a dream?
The number one indicator of a high-performing team is the presence of psychological safety and trust that comes from connection: human connection.
This keynote helps participants unlock the power of human connection by exploring the connection framework: how to bring curiosity, care, and courage to create the connection we crave. They’ll discover Connection Crashers: the words, actions, and habits we say and do that slowly go to crumble connection and what to do instead.
Participants will:
Ditch the normal “active listening checklist” and replace it with practical curious listening techniques that truly make people feel heard. They will discover how their current listening techniques add to confusion, misunderstanding, and drama and learn what to do instead.
Discover the skills required to lead with empathy. We will move beyond the cliche “walk in people’s shoes” and embrace the effort of empathy and how it is the foundation for connection.
Gain valuable perspective and learn practical methods on how to control how they show up when faced with challenges day after day. We’ll face the reality that sometimes “choosing your attitude” is harder than it sounds and explore techniques to self-manage.

THE CONNECTED EXPERIENCE
Creating environments that inspire loyalty and connection
Retention problem? Loyalty problem? Engagement problem?
Think again. Connection problem.
You know it as soon as you walk in, you sense it: the team is in sync, there’s a buzz, an energy, a vibe. Clients are raving, the team is thriving, the bottom line is booming.
Then there’s a shift. Clients are seeking new providers. The team is run down and tired from change. You’re giving away the store in an attempt to make clients happy, which in turn is draining dollars and disappointing the team. You’re trying to stop the bleeding, but nothing is working. The culture of loyalty and engagement has disappeared.
You’ve got problems: connection problems. When the focus shifts from solving problems to building connection, the foundation is set for strengthened relationships, an engaged team, and clients who feel seen, heard, and part of something special.
Focus on what the customer really wants and deliver it without giving away the store.

What People & Clients Are Saying
COURAGEOUS LEADERSHIP:
Creating Cultures of Belonging and Purpose
In today’s world, it seems like we are all longing for connection, understanding, and a sense of belonging. While the events of the past few years might have us feeling like we’ve taken one step forward and two steps back in our connectedness, the power remains in us to create a future bright with connection.
Now, more than ever, it’s time to tap into an optimistic vision of the future and open up the possibilities of what we can create through human connection. During this interactive keynote, participants explore the elements of the Connection Framework: Curiousity, Care, and Courage–and discover how to bring the framework to life at work and everywhere else.
The Framework
Curiosity: Participants will tap into their current vision and explore where they are now and where they want to go when it comes to creating a culture of connection.
Care: Discover the true meaning of empathy and explore the possibilities and understanding that open up when we lead with empathy.
Courage: Gain conviction in taking the small steps that lead to a big impact when you show up fully and authentically.
